Admission to the East Coast In Water Boat Show is free. But if the show moves you, consider leaving something behind — a donation to the Joel Hodder Marine Trades Bursary through the Community Foundation of Nova Scotia.
Help support the next generation of marine trades
IN MEMORY OF JOEL HODDER
IN LOVING MEMORY
Joel Hodder
Shining Waters Marina
Joel became part of the Shining Waters Marina family as a co-op student and never really left. His energy, curiosity, and work ethic made him a valued member of the team — but it was his kindness, integrity, and genuine love for the work that made him unforgettable.
He was working toward becoming a fully certified Marine Service Technician, staying current on the latest in boat maintenance and marine coatings, growing into exactly the kind of tradesperson the industry needs more of. Joel loved coming to work every day, and it showed.
His loss is deeply felt — not just at Shining Waters, but across the community he touched. In his honour, the Joel Hodder Marine Trades Bursary is awarded each year to a Nova Scotia student pursuing a career in the marine trades.
We are proud that this show plays a part in keeping his memory alive and his legacy growing.
